Safari steps, where iOS actually puts the file, and how to get it into your Photos app.
iPhone users have it slightly harder than everyone else — not because downloading is difficult, but because iOS handles downloaded files in a way nobody expects the first time. This guide walks the whole path: from copying the link to seeing the video in your Photos gallery.
Safari saves downloads to the Files app → iCloud Drive (or On My iPhone) → Downloads folder. Tap the blue arrow icon in Safari's toolbar and then the file, or open the Files app directly.
Videos in Files don't automatically show in your camera roll. Two taps fix that:
Photos are even easier — the Share sheet offers Save Image, which drops the JPG straight into your gallery.
