How to Download Instagram Videos

Instagram is packed with videos worth keeping — tutorials, recipes, workout routines, moments from creators you follow, and of course your own uploads. But the app only offers "Save to Collection", which just bookmarks the post inside Instagram. If the post is deleted or the account goes private, your saved collection entry dies with it.

A downloader like iGram solves that by saving the actual MP4 file to your device. Here's exactly how to do it, plus what to do when something doesn't work.

Step 1 — Copy the video link

Open Instagram (app or website) and find the video you want. Tap the Share icon — the paper-plane symbol under the post — then choose Copy Link. On desktop, click the three-dot menu at the top-right of the post and select Copy link.

The link will look something like https://www.instagram.com/reel/ABC123xyz/ or https://www.instagram.com/p/ABC123xyz/. Both work fine.

Step 2 — Paste it into iGram

Go to igramworlds.com and paste the link into the input box. On mobile you can simply tap the 📋 Paste button and iGram fills the box from your clipboard automatically.

Step 3 — Download the MP4

Press Download. iGram fetches the post, shows you a preview with the caption and creator name, and presents a Download Video (HD MP4) button. Tap it and the file saves to your device — Downloads folder on Android and desktop, the Files app on iPhone.

What kinds of videos can you download?

• Feed videos — classic in-feed video posts.
• Reels — Instagram's short vertical videos (see the dedicated Reels guide).
• IGTV / long videos — older IGTV links (/tv/…) still resolve fine.
• Videos inside carousels — every video in a multi-item post gets its own save button (carousel guide).

The one hard limit: the post must be public. Private accounts, close-friends content and login-gated Stories are off the table — iGram never logs in, which is precisely why it's safe.

Troubleshooting

"Could not fetch this post"

Check three things: the account is public (open the link in an incognito window — if you're asked to log in, it's private), the post still exists, and you copied the whole link. If all three check out, Instagram may be briefly rate-limiting; wait a minute and retry.

The video opens in a player instead of saving

Always use iGram's download buttons rather than long-pressing the preview. The buttons route through our download endpoint, which tells your browser to save the file rather than play it.

No sound in the saved file?

Some posts use muted video tracks with a separate audio overlay applied by the Instagram app. Downloading grabs the video file as uploaded — if the creator uploaded it silent, it stays silent.
